The audiobook was perfection! To the point that I'm not sure if I would have enjoyed it as much if I just read it. It was such an entertaining read. I expected a dark romance, and I got, a unique romance with dark elements. My only complaint is that it was a bit long and I felt like it was a tad all over the place but otherwise I loved it....more

I found Julia to be too pushy for my liking, but even that worked in this context. I would have gave this quick, steamy read 4.5 stars if the reason for Max's misgivings about having a relationship with Julia was something I could relate to. I just didn't see that as an actual conflict....more

It is an enchanting novella based on the classic Sleeping Beauty story with a wonderful twist. A bit predictable, but the characterisation is fun, the interplay is cute and the book reads in a flash. It's a solid bit of magic and fairies and beautiful swamp hags. I really enjoyed what the author did with the folklore. Ending fight was a little anti-climatic. Still enjoyed it a lot. It reminded me of Neil Gaiman's retelling....more

This book is the definition of a guilty pleasure. I really appreciated that this book spanned over a longer time period, that the characters had their time getting to know each other, time to form a bond and an obsession. Anyways, I enjoyed this book and I’m patientlywaiting for the next one. ...more

The last 10% of the story was soooooooo dramatic and unnecessary - especially for the plot. Too much rumination and sulking, especially in the last 20% of the book. Also, it wasn’t actually that dirty, especially compared to the other books in this series. No resolution for all the secondary relationships - the (suddenly) evil sister, the Rutleges. These actually were more interesting than all the pining between the main MCs. Wanted more, could’ve had more, but didn’t get more with this one unfortunately.

Tyler was a lovable himbo and Nick was hot af and had me lowkey swooning I can’t lie. Any other day, the whole “I’m confused not gay” plot would get tiring, but I can assure you after reading all the 9 books without stopping that that’s not the case with this series. Another amazing kinky no drama book! If you like best friends to lovers, then I think you’ll enjoy! Even I did even if it's one of my least favorite tropes....more

I did eventually warm to him, but it took a while. Sebastian also was kind of an immature dick always trying to make Vlad jealous. I know that Vlad drove me nuts most of the time, but I did root for him. He showed so much growth and did redeem himself in my eyes. I thought the final touch with him declaring his feelings was very touching and heartfelt. Not my favorite of the series, but not my least favorite either....more

TristThere's something about Ms. Hazard’s books that makes it impossible for me to stop reading them. I did not expect to like this as much as I did. Tristan comes off as arrogant, prickly, manipulative - seemingly a horrible person. However, as you slowly get to know him you discover it's really just a defense mechanism. Zach was also interesting and I liked how much he cared for Tristan. I feel like the series got back on track with Just a Bit Wrong. I swear, a spell has been cast on me. This is a delicious bad wrong scenario: older/younger, teacher/student, have/have-not flirting with dub-con as Shawn's initial reasons for entering into a relationship with Rutledge are based on need and are transactional at best. Overall I loved the dynamics between these two. Outward appearance would suggest that Derek has all the power, money, education, & experience but the crumbling of his walls in the face of his helpless attraction to Shawn is evident and inevitable. Shawn is wise beyond his years when dealing with Derek and is good at waiting him out. Morally questionable, addictive and highly entertaining. Will I read more in the series? Yes, yes I will....more

This was romantic and sexy, had a good mix of plot and heat and I liked these characters and the journey they all take to love. I think what I loved most about this is that even though Hunter and Isabel were already an established couple, this was still a book about self discovery for each person. Hunter, Isabel, and Drake were already such amazing friends before sex came into the equation. Without knowing it, they were in an emotional relationship and secretly pining for each other and wanting more. The ending lost a little something but the epilogue was sweet as hell. I wish I could give it 5 stars but something was missing. I think it was the third act conflict, it just wasn't right. It dropped this from a perfect 5 star read....more

Those books that make you sigh with contentment after you turn the last page? For me- that was this book. It had just the right amount of substance, romance, adventure and the perfect happy ending. I liked the unusual pairing between Helen and Jake--I only wish there was more time for them to be together. I also enjoyed the characterization of Windy and the unexpected friendship that develops between Helen and Windy. And the family backstory was interesting, especially the evolving relationship between Helen and her younger brother. The beginning of the book worried me a bit but the story turned into something extremely profound and beautiful and I loved it! So so close to a 5 star! ...more

I loved all the suspense and the atmosphere of the book – Quick paints a pretty spooky picture with all the descriptions of the fog and the places characters go to investigate, as well as with Sebastian’s thoughts about pre-dawn time and how it affects him. There is also a lot of subtle humour, which I love and it adds nicely to the more serious parts. Both characters have very unique personalities and they work well together, so it was logical they fell for each other so quickly. Overall, this is everything I love about Amanda Quick--sharp wit, an intriguing mystery, and an electric chemistry between the main characters. ...more

I went in blind and I really enjoyed it. A Sorceress Comes to Call is a fairytale story for adult, the story is magical but also eerie and sometimes surprisingly funny too… I really enjoyed my time reading this book because the plot is really unique (even if it's a lose retelling of a fairytale) and the characters are very loveable. There is even a bit romance (even if not where you'd expect it) and humor. The characters are (with exception of Cordelia) all mature and it was very refreshing. The writing style is also absolutely enjoyable and easy to read and it made me want to keep turning on the pages. The plot get a bit slow in the middle though but the characters' arc totally saved it. I had a really great time with this one, I was entertained throughout it. Even when it gets slower, it’s still so much fun. I’m not going to lie, if this was written by anyone else - I probably would not have read this but T. Kingfisher has never disappointed me so far. Last but not least, I listened to an audio version and the performances of the audiobook were marvelous. All in all a very satisfactory reading experience! HUGE Recommend.
