Melania is a compelling and inspirational memoir that offers a glimpse into the life of a remarkable woman who has navigated challenges with grace and determination.
In her memoir, Melania reflects on her Slovenian childhood, the pivotal moments that led her to the world of high fashion in Europe and New York, and the serendipitous meeting with Donald Trump, a chance encounter that forever changed the course of her life. Melania opens up about their courtship, life in the spotlight, and experiencing the joy of motherhood. She shares behind-the-scenes stories from her time in the White House, shedding light on her advocacy work and the causes close to her heart. Melania offers an unprecedented look into her time as a First Lady who was born outside the United States -- a role she embraced with honor and dedication. It brings readers into her world and presents an in-depth account of a woman who has led a remarkable life on her own terms. Melania Trump's story is one of resilience and independence, showcasing her strength and unwavering commitment to her true self.
Melania Trump is a former First Lady of the United States, born on April 26, 1970, in Slovenia. Before her marriage to Donald J. Trump in 2005, she worked as a model and entrepreneur, establishing her own jewelry line. As First Lady from 2017 to 2021, Melania focused on initiatives related to children’s welfare, cyberbullying, and health. Known for her elegance and fashion sense, she often used her platform to promote social issues and charitable work.
"A woman's fundamental right of individual liberty, to her own life, grants her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes" - Melania, I applaud you for this. Yes, it may just be another move to send mixed signals to those abusing their religion to control women (and I'm, much like Melania, a Catholic) and also feminists by trying to say something for everyone, but you wrote that here, so bravo. It's especially important because the only thing I truly believe Melania is that she loves Baron, as she has never said or done anything that would cause any doubt regarding this, on the contrary: She tried to protect him, which has always been relatable to me. Melania also heavily criticizes the way women are treated in Saudi-Arabia, although her husband until this day supports the most blatantly criminal members of the reigning family. Good for her.
But other than that, this is a mess: Very poorly worded and embarrassingly self-aggrandizing (my poise! my grace! my work ethic! my willpower! my humility - no, wait...oh, whatever... my success! my family's success! my sophistication!), it's just an image of a mask crafted with words. What's behind the mask? Who is Melania, the actual person? She certainly won't tell us.
On the contrary. This is another effort to blatantly change narratives - and sorry, but you have to be quite simple-minded to buy into it. For example, Melania condemns Trump's border policy (!), writing that "children were separated from their parents and held in facilities surrounded by fences under the care of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services." She makes very clear that she was against this. But then she offers the hot take that the reason for the separation was the dangerous influence of criminal cartels. No, Melania: The criminal cartels were the reason those children (!) were seeking your protection, the protection of the US, but then your husband took them away from their parents and basically incarcerated them, as you yourself describe, as you yourself think is immoral. Or is the "criminal cartel" you're referring to your husband's administration?
The racism and selective writing of history is a feature here, not a bug. Every third-rate celeb gets name-checked in the book, but George Floyd who was murdered by police in Minneapolis is "a Black Minneapolis resident". Say his name, Melania. George Floyd. Oh, and BLM bad, of course. Sure, Mel. *siiiiighhhh* The Slovenia of Melania's childhood was like a paradise of opportunities for hard-working people like herself, but later in the book, her husband being under investigation for actual crimes he actually committed is communism, and she must know, because she grew up under bad, bad communism. Get your story straight, Melania.
On to the anti-constitutional efforts of the Trump family: The insurrection (a.k.a. treason) was bad, Melania states, because "the violence we witnessed was unequivocally unacceptable". Please note that she condemns the violence, not the attempt to overthrow the government and destroy American democracy. Because she once against spits conspiracy theories that the election was rigged. And to give another example from the Nazi playbook: Regarding the infamous I don't care, do you? jacket, she uses the incident as an attempt to blame the bad, bad media who are out to get her, which, you know, lies. How shameless do you have to be to be married to a proven pathological liar trying to constantly gaslight his constituency and then write in your memoir: "I believe it is crucial for accurate information to be relayed to the media in order to maintain transparency and credibility." Are you fucking kidding me, Melania?! Take your own advice, and then read The Language of the Third Reich: LTI--Lingua Tertii Imperii: A Philologist's Notebook. Also, having people contradict you is not cancel culture, it's free speech. Your husband wants to abolish this cornerstone of democracy as well by throwing his opponents in jail. And you stand by, all for the grift.
This book is a last-ditch effort to convince women voters, and its main achievement is that it shows that Donald and Melania deserve each other. They don't care about their country, they don't care about their voters, they actively oppose democracy. We over here in Western Europe are laughing about those simpletons with their red caps supporting a grifting poser telling them he cares about the small man. He doesn't care, and Melania doesn't either. Just listen to them, they are constantly informing you about it, also in this book.
EDIT: For those in the comment section who are, for some unfathomable reason, wondering why Trump is called a fascist, watch his latest rally at Madison Square Garden: - "we will have the largest mass deportation in American history" - Puerto Rico is "a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean" - Kamala Harris is "the anti-Christ", Hillary Clinton a "sick son of a bitch" - "the fucking illegals get whatever they want" Trump personally claimed: - the Democrats are "the enemy from within" - a “savage Venezuelan prison gang” have “taken over Times Square” - Biden spent the hurricane relief funds for NC “bringing in illegal immigrants, flying them in by beautiful jet planes” Trump, who said that he admires how Hitler kept his generals in line, also constantly states that he will incarcerate people who contradict his views. So, with all of that, who does he say he is, and what does his party promote?
Uhhhhm seriously? Checked out a copy on Hoopla and just finished it. What in tarnations did I just read? Can I have my frontal lobe removed? The writing is brutally simplistic and dull, almost like AI wrote it? No, it stinks of Melania actually. No sense in going into details, you know what you're in for reading this one, and it lives up to the horrors. Revisionist history is a gigantic understatement. I keep hearing Laverne Defasio whispering "bimbo" in my ear... Yup. Bout covers it. Enjoy if you dare, you'll laugh your arse off and for all the wrong reasons. Now we get another chance! Yay for us. 🤮
Memoirs are tricky because most of the time, people claim that they aren’t judging the author and their life but the writing, how the memoir made them feel, what they learned out of the real life story, etc. Well, if that’s the case for me, here’s my thoughts on the writing, on how or what this made me feel, and what I learned about the story: I first think the writing is absolutely dull and dry, then I think the memoir is completely contradicting, and I learned absolutely nothing worth remembering about Melania. Truth be told, when I first learned about Melania in 2016, when Trump announced he was running for president, I was kinda fascinated and impressed: an immigrant, with English not being her first, Native tongue, with a history of modeling. But as she became the First Lady in 2016, I became less interested and curious, and this memoir didn’t really help in increasing that former curiosity.
The writing is so simplistic, robotic, and dull, there is lack of true depth, evidence, and unnecessary amount of 100+ photos, and contradictions take the spot. Reading this felt like I was reading an overwritten, overly long “about me” of Melania with no truth, no voice, and no emotion. There’s no way to feel any sympathy or understanding. It feels like there is a victim mentality, making it seem like her life was hard, yet there is only praise about her sophisticated and luxurious life and family. Melania offers nothing inspiring in this and never once shows her capabilities in anything besides her career as a model. In this short memoir, she claims she cares about the American people, about health, cyberbullying, education, kids, women, LGBTQ, and immigrants, yet there’s nothing she mentions that she does and has never done anything to show this is an issue moderately taken care of. In reality, all we see care for are foreign relationships, military aid, the country’s reputation, economy and richness, and being in power. She voices her concerns for the sake of gaining an audience, popularity, and the people’s win, but nothing is done to overturn these issues and provide assistance.
Melania’s achievements in modeling were given to her. While she worked hard for it, she had the privilege of starting from the top. She could probably come off as an inspiring, philosophical and independent woman to look up to for some had her views and political beliefs not been defined by her husbands actions. While she had a luxurious, rich little life where she had the privilege of not struggling, had Melania just continued being a model and businesswoman, she could’ve easily had a voice for the voiceless and uprooted their concerns to show pride and rage for them. Even when she was challenged through different ways, Melania speaks about challenges she faced, like rejection, being lied to, and used. But to me, it comes off as shallow and ignorant to claim you care about X, Y, and Z issues yet continue standing side by side to (1) man responsible for said X, Y, and Z issues. Reading about Melania’s values never felt truthful and instead just forced.
For example, her stance on immigrants and separated families is actually hopeful. Me personally, I didn’t know this, but here we learn that Melania was actually against the separation of families and, according to her, she asked Trump to stop the separation and reunite the families. Throughout this certain chapter, she mentions she feels sympathy and care for these kids fleeing their countries and wants to help them, understanding that these kids and immigrants want a chance at a better life. But then, she claims this: “It quickly became evident to me that the root cause of their separation from their families was not the government but rather the dangerous influence of criminal cartels in their home countries.” Ummm….no. It was the government. The American one, to be exact. These kids are fleeing their country because of criminal cartels and violence, yes, but they were not separated because of them. They were separated by the U.S. government, where the criminal cartels had no influence on. They took the risk of coming here for the sake of a better life and protection. Then we learn that the famous jacket that made the news stating “I really don’t care, do u?” was not related to the children and innocence of them, but to the opinions people had of her. CNN, BBC, and all these “liberal, left wing” news sites claimed it was that she didn’t care about the kids. Having said that, if she had wanted to show the world she didn’t really care about their opinions, why did she need to make an entire segment about it? I feel like having to “prove yourself” while being the First Lady is showing how unable you actually are to carry yourself with pride. It goes to show that you actually do care, and that you actually want to gain the audience’s eyes and views. Plus, there have been no other “proving moments” where Melania shows HER opinion on the matter regarding other issues, so why just this time?
The way I saw it, Melania only cares about issues when or if they personally affect her, too. For example, the concept and launch of Be Best is definitely good and I think something that’s helpful, but it’s obvious it was done because of what happened to Barron, Melania and Donald’s son, and the cyberbullying enhanced on the internet, making fun of him, saying he was autistic and imposing a cruelty on him. While Melania cares, as she is a mother herself, it seems to be action was only taken deliberately when it pertained to her and her family. It makes me question if such a program like Be Best would be done had none of this cyberbullying happened. But again, it’s a bit contradicting to me to read and learn about these actions Melania took to bring awareness to the issues of cyberbullying or the like while continuing to side with individuals that partake in these issues themselves.
Once again, her views and personal opinions simply come off as contradicting to me. You’re willingly married to a man who is completely against everything you “stand for” and believe, such as reproductive rights, healthcare, children’s protections and safety, the safety of Americans, etc. Meanwhile rape and crime rates continuously increase, mass shootings continue happening at schools, and homelessness and poverty continue being one of the biggest issues the country is facing.
Melania isn’t her husband, but I think she’s been influenced by him. The description of this led me to believe this would offer a new look and perspective into Melania, into realizing she isn’t who the media perceives her to be, but I don’t think this memoir succeeding in doing any of that. There was no emotion, nothing felt truthful, and it felt like I’m set to believe a certain way just because she’s a human who wrote this book on her life. And the thing is, everything feels fake. There’s nothing about this memoir that shows who Melania is because everything is either hidden, influenced, or it was all written by someone else.
Special shout out to my library/hoopla for letting me borrow this because I was definitely not gonna waste $17.99 for the KINDLE version of this. I’m supporting mine before they decide to take it away. I’m also supporting mine before the government takes away my right to read whatever the fuck I want and censors media they don’t agree with. Cause, yknow, Project 2025.
It’s truly amazing what a great country this is. 😍 RAHHH RAHHH 🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅
Melania is a fascinating woman and any insight to the way she thinks and operates is invaluable. Whether you like her or not, you have to admit that she absolutely does not care what anyone thinks or says about her. Throughout the book, she addresses everything the media said about her and not once does she apologize for any of it. She is unapologetically herself, in the truest sense of the word, and she does not pay attention to anyone’s expectations of her but her own.
Everyone has done it this way before? I don’t care, I’m not everyone. I’m Melania.
She paves her own path and she does what she wants to do without caring to please anyone else or prove anything to anyone. In a world where everyone around you tries so hard to put on a certain image on social media and is so consumed with what other people think, it’s beyond refreshing to be introduced to a different mindset-a person that lives to be happy and fulfilled, focused on family.
Memoir from the former (and future?) First Lady. It is disheartening to read how she and her family have been victimized by the cancel culture of the intolerant left.
PROS: It was formatted like an actual memoir, unlike DJT’s three post-presidential coffee table books. Only took 2-3 hours to read. White text on black cover looks hot.
CONS: It read like a mediocre college admissions essay, with generic descriptions and observations. Key details were missing throughout (her predecessor is only referred to as “Michelle,” no last name). Abruptly ends with no conclusion or acknowledgements. Still not sure why this book was released. Overall takeaway, as with everything Melania related, is “What is she thinking?”
I got this from the local library, and I don't know what I was expecting, but it was certainly more than this. The Kindle version is ~340 pages, and 150 of those pages were just photos. The rest of the book is Melania selling herself and Donald as kind and caring humans who only care about bringing the country together. When she wasn't touting that narrative, she was vilifying the media and describing, in detail, all the improvements she made to the White House. There were also spelling and grammatical errors, which is a show stopper for me!
The only high point was her clarification of her stance on women's rights and abortion.
I'm sorry if you spent the $28 from an online or big box retailer and even MORE sorry if you spent the $40 she charges on her own site.
Honest and inspiring read based on acts of those threatened by change.
Told honestly by someone who only wanted to help make this world a better place. A women, wife and loving mother who only wanted to protect her son and family. A women of grace and poise who did so much and worked hard as First Lady that went unreported. A clear insight that their are those in power who will do whatever it takes to further their agenda. God bless the Trumps for all they suffered and endured while trying TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. A must read for those who want to her the truth and read between the lines.
Melania really is a fascinating First Lady, I had no idea everything that goes with that title. It’s a lot! She has always been so quiet so it was an enjoyable read. Now on Hoopla from your local library.
Span of the life experiences of a wise and savvy first lady's
For women who need to know more about what makes a first lady like Melania Trump stand out, read how much it means to her to obtain US citizenship, how she honors our service men and women & how our volunteer ranks stand up eager to aid victims of national disasters like floods and how she espouses Your Body, Your Choice beliefs. More, how she deals with her husband's life being subject to deadly threats. The early chapters deal with her early life in Slovenia and then as a euro-model, fashion designer and decor maven. Educated in architectural design at Univ. Lubjljana she worked to update rooms & sites for a few Trump real estate holdings as well as a few rooms in the White House to better host foreign leaders. She addresses her quiet charity work in several developing countries and how you protect your family from predatory media, how you have to deal with political mean-ness and how to fight bullying ..be your Best self are all topics addressed in this honest book...called simply... Melania.
I neither like nor dislike Melania. She is a woman in the most golden of cages. I believe she entered this cage of her own accord.
I want to be clear that this is not a memoir. This is a carefully curated book of a woman who greatly overemphasizes and exaggerates her achievements, her talents, her poise. She uses the words empathy, authenticity, unity in every other paragraph. The lady protesteth way too much. Has she been treated unfairly ? Absolutely but unlike millions of our fellow brothers and sisters she has choices and privileges that would enable her to live a life that she purports to want...yet she does not...
She is not to be blamed for the divisiveness, the vitriol, the shit-show that has become America...
She keeps the reader away from her soul (as is her right) but perhaps she has sold it for way too heavy a price and no longer possesses it....
I (mostly) don't believe her here in this book but I still wish her the very best...
Politics aside, I Melania is a very inspiring woman and I really enjoyed this one! I feel like there’s a lot of left biased trolls on here leaving negative reviews just for the heck of it which I wouldn’t put much weight to.
Profoundly boring and poorly written. Does not succeed in convincing the reader that Melania is a real person. Reads like a (loooong) AI-generated cover letter for a job application. The most illuminating content is a few family photos, in which her father bears a passing resemblance to Donald Trump. Otherwise, it's an excruciatingly uninteresting Melania brochure or shameless Trump propaganda.
I got a hold of a copy of the book- no way in hell I would give this family a cent of my hard earned money! I listened to the book on 2.5x on SPEECHIFY APP to get thru it fast.
PS: Speechify is a paid app that allows people with Dyslexia and other reading disabilities to access audio books when they have a physical copy of a book, is also works with kindle, PDFs, downloadable written materials. Listening to Melania’s BUUUK was like walking through a museum where every exhibit was labeled “Me” but offered little insight beyond the surface. The book promises to dive deep into the life of one of the most private First Ladies, but instead, we get a glossy, shallow portrait filled with vague reflections and carefully curated anecdotes.
Melania tells us about her upbringing in Slovenia, her modeling career, and her time in the White House, but with a tone that feels distant and robotic. For instance, she shares moments like, “Growing up, I always knew I was destined for something more,” but never elaborates beyond that. Much of the book reads like an extended Instagram caption, full of inspirational platitudes but devoid of actual substance.
At one point, she writes, “I believe in hard work and being true to yourself,” which could have been a powerful statement if it weren’t one of the many generic declarations that pepper the entire book. These sentiments feel recycled, as if she’s trying to remind us she’s her own person without offering any real glimpse of who that person is. I don’t know if anyone has run this thru a plagiarism checker but with her poor English ability I don’t see how she could have written this BUUUK.
The “BUUUK” also spends an inordinate amount of time on her fashion choices and public appearances, rather than offering any real reflection on her time in the White House or her personal values. One chapter is dedicated to her Be Best initiative, but the details are sparse, and we’re left wondering what it actually accomplished, beyond the perfectly staged photo ops.
If you’re looking for an honest, revealing memoir, you won’t find it here. Melania feels more like a carefully managed PR campaign than an actual autobiography. If you want to know more about the life of a First Lady who’s mastered the art of saying a lot without saying anything at all, this book is for you. But for those seeking depth, substance, or even a bit of emotion, you’ll find it about as elusive as a genuine smile in one of her public appearances.
I read this book in an afternoon. Melania Trump is a beautiful fashion model, the daughter of a talented designer and a designer in her own right, an immigrant, a former first lady, a self-confident entrepreneur, a mother, and an advocate for children’s issues—among other things. Writing a memoir is hard, but Melania makes wise choices in what to share and what to omit. During her time as first lady, I somehow missed the fact that she renovated and restored so many rooms in the White House, but as she is a former architecture and design student, her passion for the project makes sense. She is honest about some painful and public mistakes she made and how she learned from them.
Melania’s narrative voice is authentic and engaging. To me, the writing style served to remind the reader that she grew up in eastern Europe and didn’t come to the U.S. until she was twenty-six years old. The rhythms of her culture, native language, and family origin appear in the writing. I found the book to be inspiring.
If you’re curious about this person and her interesting journey, this is a quick read.
It was very enlightening. She has quite the fascinating life. Many things that I already knew many that I didn’t. Loved all the pictures can’t wait for the coffee table version.
This book is a testament to what a class-act Melania Trump is. She’s a very strong, ethical, hard working, and private person who prides herself on her confidence and independence. She does what she can to avoid being sucked into the unwarranted scandalous drama and negativity that comes with being a super model, the most beautiful First Lady (my opinion), and Donald Trump’s wife. Her steadfast resilience in the face of adversity is commendable. The love she has for her family, especially her son Baron, her husband Donald, and her parents and sister is nothing short of admirable. She has strong family values and is a wonderful roll-model of a mother that puts the wellbeing of her son first. Her love for America is evident throughout her life’s journeys. She is truly a remarkable and beautiful woman inside and out.
Oh my - is there any other family in this country that is so self absorbed, egotistical and arrogant and does so little to help others? I did not and would not buy this book - someone loaned it to me - and it’s awful.
1. She's a robot as she writes like one 2. I have very little respect for a former First Lady whose nekkidpu$$y has been photographed for general consumption
DONE -- I am suffering from dead brain cells that I will never get back. What THE HELL WAS THAT??????????????????????????????????????
A good read. Not a long book. I liked finally hearing her side of situations, from how she began as a model, to how she and Donald met, to life in the White House and beyond.
Malarkey Trump’s book has words. It is a book after all. She didn’t write it. The best she could do is steal someone else’s story or hire a ghost writer. Unfortunately the words in this memoir don’t tell us much of substance. It’s shallow like her.
Even if Malarkey tries to correct misunderstandings or share important events in her life, she lies or plays the blame game. Don’t forget how the (mainstream) media especially has always attacked her. Aww… Bless her heart. Poor thing. It’s so unfair. She’s always the victim. It’s never her own fault.
There are lots of photographs in Malarkey’s book. There are some from her career as a “fashion model.” There are lots of pictures of smiling Malarkey with children from “shithole countries.” There are a few White House photos and many of happy family scenes.
I shook my head at photos of things she had for sale as First Lady and after she left the White House- skin care products, her fashion line, fragrance, jewelry, and Christmas ornaments (ironic because we all know what she thinks of fucking Christmas). Many of these collectibles are still for sale. Hurry- Get ‘em before they’re gone!
There are no photos of destroying the rose garden, the demonic red Christmas trees, or the infamous “I don’t really care” jacket. You won’t find any of her nude or girl on girl photographs here either although she tells us it’s artistic.
I don’t have a problem with Malarkey being a call girl (if she was) or doing porn (she did). My problem is acting like her shit don’t stink. She’s a liar, racist (remember she was a birther), grifter, and maybe a Russian spy or Donald’s handler. Malarkey Trump was the worse First Lady ever.
I’m not sure if Malarkey would consider I’m following “Be Best” with this review. Probably not because you can only praise her wonderfulness. I’d say I did about as well as she and her husband practice being best- unless (yikes!) that’s the best they can be. Then OMG, that’s sad and terrifying at the same time.
The writing is very simplistic. There's no self-reflection. Despite some of the topics, this is a really boring book. I appreciate non-fiction books that have lots of photos, which this one does, but maybe didn't need 5 pictures of the tennis pavilion or the ones of her digital collectibles. I'm not sure if she used a ghostwriter, but if she did they are either not good at their job or were ignored.
Once I started reading, I didn’t want to stop. So much information about the duties and responsibilities of the First Lady. Melania is her own person and even Donald knows it. After reading her story, I feel like I personally know her.
The First Lady’s memoir was short but informative. I feel I know her a bit better. She is an engaging, independent, loving and strong woman. I enjoyed reading the behind the scenes descriptions of her life. It is much different from the MSMs unfair portrayal of her.
I liked this book. It seemed to be a true reflection of Melania. In her own words we learned of who she is, her convictions and her stance on life. It was beautiful to hear about her love of family (parents and sister), her love for Donald Trump and her son Barron. She frequently referred to Trump as "my husband" which exhibited a strong sense of love and devotion. She has put her family first above all, yet she is confident, smart, organized and talented, traits that have enabled her to take on any task and believe she will succeed. Much like Donald Trump. She is a successful businesswoman in a number of different businesses. Much like Donald Trump. She has a strong independent character, yet she is a softy for those in need and especially children. Much like Donald Trump. Interesting story and a super easy, fast read.
