I loved the artwork, which was intricate yet simple and soothing. This is a simple book, one that might not inspire deep reflection (no offense to our feline friends!), but irrespective of whether you are a cat person or not, the witty feline wisdom and gentle reminders to be kinder to oneself could be just what you need to put a smile on your face when you are feeling overwhelmed!
Purrfectly delightful, this is a book that I would certainly want to revisit!
My favorite quote: “If your inner critic turns into a bully just let me tell you that you really do not need to be perfect”

I loved the artwork, which was intricate yet simple and soothing. This genuinely the CUTEST and the most ADORABLE, PRECIOUS little book I have ever read. Cannot wait to buy the hardcopy. Honestly anything cat is honestly the cutest but add to it the different cartoon eyes, expressions and the sassy quotes. PURRFECTION!! Truly!
My favourite quote from the book has to be - "I shit rainbows 🌈 and do what I want" - like how can you not LOVE that?

I've seen these adorable kitties every time I opened Instagram - which, admittedly, isn't often. Always fun, often funny, and so adorable. Of course I had to get the book when it was announced.
Some life-affirming messages in here, but an equal amount of daily silliness like we all know it or ought to. Yep, I felt seen / called out. I chose the two exemplary images above for a reason. *lol*

The Book of Purrs is the perfect book for a cat lover or, the friend of a cat lover….because you need to make an effort to understand your friend’s love for a creature that will love you one minute and then pretend you don’t exist in the next.
Purring is the way cats show contentment, and The Book of Purrs will convey that same feeling to you as you read this book.
These cartoon panels show Portuguese illustrator Luis Coelho's famous line drawings , wide eyed cats expressing feline truisms as well as commentary on everyday life that border on Zen reflections. They will make you smile and cause you to ruminate on how such a simple thought can be so powerful.
“Sometimes anxiety is a liar in our own head” says the cat in the panel on page 11
Everything about this collection from the presentation of the panels, to the inspiration behind the actual drawings is perfect. I would not change a thing. ….

I adore cats! I adore comics with cats! I adore comics with cats drawn by beloved Portuguese artist Luis Coelho, a bright star on Instagram (@purr.in.ink)! And I adore this book, his very first, which made me both lol and reflect on the pithy sayings designed to give you comfort, wisdom and joy! Highly recommended for adults who also love comics with cats drawn lovingly by Coelho. Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Purrfection! I’ve seen a few of these online but for some reason they worked better for me as a collection. Absolutely loved this from start to finish.
I just could not stop reading until I finished it! I read this with my cat Lucky and my kitten Hope and I often looked at them, while chuckling from the naughty comics or emotional because of the adorable ones. This is a book that every cat lover will adore!

A cute, adorable and entertaining collection that I finished on a train ride. I like how the book is filled with so many positive affirmations and good reminders — some of which rhyme really well — without taking itself too seriously. Thank you for this spot of brightness at just the right time ❤️

This is an absolutely adorable little book. Full of sweet affirmations and drawing of adorable cats with huge eyes. This is definitely a book I will buy and keep in my library. A great gift for any cat lover!

This was adorable. I loved the artwork, and the text was very sweet, and sometimes laugh-out-loud funny. There were a lot of platitudes, but I’m willing to accept that cats think in platitudes.
This precious book just made my heart happy.

I’m so thankful for the opportunity to get access to this book. I used to follow @purr.in.ink when I had a “bookstagram” account and I loved to see his daily artwork on my IG home page. This book includes a wonderful selection of Luis Coelho’s cat illustrations and lovely messages.
I invite you to take a closer look to each illustration so you’ll see those fine parallel lines which give form to those fluffy and cute cats 😍. This technique is called “hatching”. Coelho said in an interview that “drawings in A4 sheets take him between 10 and 60 hours to complete” (from deMilked by Aušrys Uptas)

This book is charming. Little, inspirational, 4 panel quotes with soothing background colors and gentle catitude.
There were occasional touchs of mild profanity that disrupted the vibe a bit for me, but overall, just a peaceful little book of comics.

I am thankful I read this one today, a tough day for me emotionally. This book reads like a warm hug from a sweet black cat who can’t help being just a little feisty at times, but also has a lot of love and wisdom to share with us. This book almost got me crying because it was so sweet. I enjoyed it a lot!

Oh this book is a purr-fect read for when you need a little pick-me-up! It is chock-full of poignant messages about life's hard times and advice for looking on the bright side of things, as told by our favorite furballs. The artwork is gorgeous and I enjoyed every page!

This book was such a cute motivation book with adorable drawings of cats. It made me smile and laugh a lot. I think it would be the most wonderful little pick-me-up for when someone is feeling sad. I really hope that it gets the recognition it deserves!

If you ever needed a little book of wisdom from cats, here is the book for you. Here are 96 pages of cats' thoughts, and the author seems to have channeled them well. Based on his instagram account of the same sorts of comics, this collects thoughts just like they came from your favorite cat.
One example: “You deserve someone who look at you like you are the best thing that exists and then bites you.” So typically cat like.
Other times, it is more like a reflection. “In the here. In the now. No worries. Only Meow.”
And other times, it is just something you wish your cat would say: “Sometimes the world is cold, so I made this soup for you.”
And one I totally agree with “Existing is complicated. But napping solves most of it.”
The drawings are whimsical, and it is written like some affirmation books. YOu are only supposed to check on it day by day, not sit and read it all in one gulp.
Definitely a coffee table or gift book. Light, and fluffy, much like a cat.

"The Book of Purrs" is a cute collection of comics about cats. There are silly panels about how cats look super sweet and then bite you, and encouraging panels that rhyme and are "feel good" thoughts, like "you are perfect the way you are". It is very short, only 98 pages, and you can easily read in a few minutes. The illustrations are super adorable and the cats are drawn very fluffy with huge eyes in a very unique style. The book is a great mood booster, as each panel aims to either make you laugh or bring a positive spin to your day.
My only negative thought about this is that many of the comics were repetitive; I think there were around 4 that centered around cats biting, and many that were pretty much the same "positive rhyme" and for such a short book I think the repetition in unnecessary. I wish there were more of a variety of silly panels.
I would recommend this book for cat lovers, people who love cute illustrations of cats, and people who want an uplifting book to just sit down with for a few minutes here and there. 4/5 stars

I thought this was a very cute book. I liked the pictures of the cats and how they were used to bring me joy and laughter. I gave the book 4/5 stars because I felt like the jokes about bites were redundant by the end. I would have loved to see more jokes about other cat stereotypes such as they show love by putting their butt in your face or by bringing you "gifts". All in all, great concept and I hope you publish more.

The Book of Purrs is SO funny and sweet. It's hard not to fall instantly in love. I know, I'm biased. But I do adore cats. I also love Luis Coelho's artistic style. Seriously, if I could buy a few of these pages in print form, I would (note to self: see if that's possible).
This collection is chill, cute, and funny all in one. The comic plots are simple, sweet, and effective. They deal with silly cat moments, mental health, self-care, reminders of value, you name it. In short, it's perfect when you're needing a pick-me-up.

I adored this and devoured the illustrations with the whimsy of a child. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. I love cats with a passion so when I saw this book available at Netgalley for ARC grabs I knew I had to try and get it.
This book is a well balanced platter of emotions. One second it will have you laughing over a joke on purrs, another second you will be shaking your head at a panel that replicates typical cat behaviour (aka involving lots and lots of biting). But then sprinkled throughout the book are pages with profound wisdom and simple comforting truths that will tear you up from inside and touch that tiny space in your heart that craves the love and warmth on a hard day. Sometimes it's just a reminder that life is hard and it's okay to not be okay, other times it's a pat on the back affirming that you are enough as you are and you don't need to prove that to anyone.
I loved the variety this book had, it sprang from one topic to another like a boomerang and engaging all my emotions like I imagine a real cat would. Luís Coelho has managed to create a bundle of joy and warm hugs that anyone will feel proud to own a copy of. It reminds me of one of my favourite books, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy, where no matter which page you open you are greeted with something simple and yet profound enough to touch your heart.
